Jason Day Captures the Win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational |
In a hotly contested tournament, Jason Day continued Australia’s golfing hot streak by winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
Day claimed his eighth victory on the U.S. PGA Tour, shooting a final round of two-under-par 70 to finish at 17-under.
The victory followed back-to-back wins in the U.S. by Adam Scott earlier this month and is yet another encouraging sign for Australia going into next month’s Masters.
Day is set to rise from No.3 to No.2 in the world rankings after taking a two-shot lead into the final round.
“It means the world to me and I just ground out today. It wasn’t the best day that I had, but just to be able to get it done when I wasn’t quite on,” said Day
