Minjee Lee Shoots a 64 to Win the Lotte Championship

Meet Minjee Lee - 19 Year Old Winner of the 2016 Lotte Championship

Minjee Lee won the Lotte Championship making it her second LPGA Tour title on tour. 

She closed the 4 day Saturday ending event with an 8-under 64 giving her a one-stroke victory.

In her final round, the 19-year-old Australian competitor had a seven-hole run with 6-under from a chip-in eagle on the par-5, 13th hole and four birdies. She finish with16-under 272 at Ko Olina in Hawaii.

Lee drilled an 11-foot birdie putt on the par-4 17th hole and got up-and-down for par on the par-4 18th, holing a 6-foot putt. 

Third-round leader Katie Burnett and U.S. Women’s Open champion In Gee Chun tied for second.

Burnett had been leading by 6 going into the final round and lost a share of the lead with a three-putt bogey on the par-3 16th hole. She then missed a 6-foot birdie on 17 and a long birdie putt on 18 in a 70. 

In Gee Chun finished with a 67.

The tournament moves to San Francisco on Monday and tournament play on April 21-24 with the Swinging Skirts Classic presented by CTBC.
