Hoffman closed with a 3-under 69 and 12-under 276 in San Antonio for a one-stroke victory over Patrick Reed.
Said Hoffman, "This was my hardest one. Grabbing that lead and holding on to it -- it's tough to keep the pedal down and give yourself birdie opportunities and win golf tournaments. It was about a cup outside left, and I said to myself, let's finish this here. Let's not play anymore. I definitely dodged bullets there. I made my par saves . . . . so I was able to keep my momentum."
Patrick Reed played alongside Hoffman and also birdied the par-5 18th for a 69. He missed his birdie putt on the par-3 16th and par-4 17th to eliminate a playoff opportunity and hand the victory to Hoffman.
Hoffman also won the 2007 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, 2010 Deutsche Bank Championship and 2015 OHL Classic at Mayakoba.
